Equal Employment Opportunity Policy

 

The Office of Budget and Management is fully committed to state and federal Equal Employment Opportunity laws, which guarantee a workplace that is free of discrimination and harassment.

That commitment, set forth in OBM's Anti-Discrimination and Anti-Harassment Policy, provides the following rights to all our employees and to applicants for employment here:

Discrimination

It is the policy of the Office of Budget and Management to maintain a working environment free from discrimination, discriminatory harassment, and retaliation. Further, it is the policy of the Office of Budget and Management to prohibit discrimination, discriminatory harassment, and retaliation of applicants and employees due to:

  • Genetic Information
  • Sexual Orientation

  • Gender Identity or Expression
  • Caregiver Status (status as a parent during pregnancy and immediately after the birth of a child, status as a parent of a young child, status as a foster parent)

No state agency may make any employment-related decisions on the basis of the above-listed categories, including, but not limited to, hiring, layoff, termination, transfer, promotion, demotion, rate of compensation or eligibility for in-service training programs. Moreover, no state agency may retaliate against a complainant or a participant in a complaint.
